S.O. 2006, c.29, as amended (the “Act”), in particular sections 19 and 21;
AND IN THE MATTER OF Dinesh Khanna also known as Dinish Khanna and Dennis Khanna (“Khanna”).
ORDER REVOKING LICENCE
Khanna is licensed as a mortgage agent (licence # M21001272) under the Act.
On June 11, 2021, by delegated authority from the Chief Executive Officer of the Financial Services Regulatory Authority of Ontario (the “Chief Executive Officer”), the Head of Licensing and Risk Assessment, Market Conduct (the “Head of Licensing”) issued a Notice of Proposal to revoke the mortgage agent licence (licence # M21001272) issued to Khanna. The Head of Licensing also issued an Interim Order Suspending Khanna’s Licence on June 11, 2021, and an Extension of the Interim Order Suspending Licence on July 12, 2021.
A Request for Hearing dated June 15, 2021, was delivered to the Financial Services Tribunal (the “Tribunal”) in accordance with section 21(2) and (3) of the Act respecting the Notice of Proposal.
The Tribunal held a written hearing with respect to the Notice of Proposal.
The Tribunal, in its Reasons for Decision dated March 28, 2022 (the “Decision”), directed the Chief Executive Officer to carry out the Notice of Proposal to revoke Khanna’s mortgage agent licence.
The mortgage agent licence (licence # M21001272) issued to Dinesh Khanna also known as Dinish Khanna and Dennis Khanna is hereby revoked, for the reasons set out in the Decision.
