Every life insurance agent/broker is a "reporting entity" under Canada's anti-money laundering (AML) and anti-terrorist financing (ATF) regime and, as such, is legally obliged to have AML/ATF policies and procedures that must be in writing and kept up to date. The Canadian Life and Health Insurance Association (CLHIA) in cooperation with member companies has developed an anti-money laundering (AML) and anti-terrorist financing (ATF)Guidance Manual that can be used by each agent/broker as his or her own policies and procedures.
