to transact automobile insurance in Ontario

Revised Designated Assessment Centre Fee Guideline

With this Bulletin, the Financial Services Commission of Ontario (FSCO) is releasing a revised Designated Assessment Centre Fee Guideline. This revised Guideline replaces Superintendent’s Guideline No. 02/04: Designated Assessment Centre Fee Guideline, released in January 2004.

The Guideline has been revised to provide clarification with respect to:

  • translation/interpreter expenses;
  • transportation expenses;
  • cancellation fees;
  • surveillance; and
  • paediatric claimants.

The Guideline applies to all DAC assessments, other than Fast-Track Medical and Rehabilitation DAC assessments, Residual Earning Capacity DAC assessments, assessments of paediatric claimants and assessments of claimants with brain or spinal cord impairments.

The Guideline becomes effective for all requests for a DAC assessment received by a DAC on or after March 1, 2004.

Guideline for Selecting the Nearest Designated Assessment Centre

The Commission’s Guideline 3/95: Guideline for Selecting the Nearest Designated Assessment Centre, September 1995, is hereby revoked.
