This mortgage brokerage application form is to be used only by Real Estate Brokers registered with the Real Estate Council of Ontario (RECO) who wish to apply for a mortgage brokerage licence under the Mortgage Brokerages, Lenders and Administrators Act, 2006 with effect as of July 1, 2008.

Real Estate Brokers who have a certificate of registration as a mortgage broker issued by the Financial Services Commission of Ontario (FSCO)under the current Mortgage Brokers’ Act should not use this form.

You must provide your RECO registration number on the application form or it will be returned to you without being reviewed.

This application form is for use during the advance application period which runs from March 1, 2008 to June 30, 2008. Please read the complete set of instructions before completing this form.

Don’t delay, please submit your application immediately. As of July 1, 2008, the current Mortgage Brokers Act is revoked, including the deemed registration of real estate brokers under section 4(4) of that Act.  Due to the high volume of applications being reviewed by FSCO ,there is no certainty that applications received after June 1, 2008 will be reviewed in time for licensingby July 1, 2008.
