The Financial Services Commission of Ontario (FSCO) and the Financial Services Tribunal (FST) are monitoring the situation between Canada Post and the Canadian Union of Postal Workers (CUPW).
In the event of a labour disruption, we will post updated information on this web page about contingency plans we have in place to minimize disruption to our stakeholders and maintain our service levels.
Important information for regulated businesses and individuals
In the event of a Canada Post labour disruption, regulated businesses and individuals will remain responsible for fulfilling their legal obligations under the appropriate legislation by submitting their documents on time to FSCO and FST.
Regulated businesses and individuals also will be responsible to have a plan in place to ensure they comply with the appropriate legislation and legal requirements when they are dealing with their customers, plan members or policyholders.
Important information for consumers
Consumers will remain responsible for providing documents to their financial service provider or pension plan administrator and making payments and providing documents where required in the event of a Canada Post labour disruption.
Consumers should be proactive and contact their financial service provider or pension plan administrator (or check their website) for further information or make alternate delivery arrangements in the event of a labour disruption.
