The revised Pre-Approved Framework (PAF) Guideline for Grade I and Grade II Whiplash Associated Disorders issued on July 9, 2007, is a result of Financial Services Commission of Ontario's (FSCO) PAF Guideline Project. The PAF Guideline Project examined current scientific literature related to the assessment and treatment of minor whiplash injuries in order to update the current Guidelines.
This Background Paper was prepared by Corporate Health Group Inc. and summarizes the literature that serves as a foundation for the existing WAD I and WAD II PAF Guidelines and introduces additional literature that will assist in the improvement of the existing WAD I and WAD II PAF Guidelines. The Background Paper contemplates the types of interventions that have been demonstrated to be effective in the assessment, treatment and management of patients with WAD I and II type injuries in the acute/sub-acute phase of recovery.
The PAF Guidelines Project Newsletter is a quarterly source of information for auto insurance stakeholders. The newsletter is produced and distributed by the Financial Services Commission of Ontario.
