With this Bulletin, the Financial Services Commission of Ontario is highlighting the release of the revised Pre-approved Framework Guidelines for Whiplash Associated Disorder Grade I and II With or Without Complaint of Back Symptoms and a revised Transportation Expense Guideline.

 

 

 

Revised Pre-approved Framework Guidelines

 

Pre-approved Framework Guideline for Whiplash Associated Disorder Grade I With or Without Complaint of Back Symptoms and Pre-approved Framework Guideline for Whiplash Associated Disorder Grade II With or Without Complaint of Back Symptoms changes have been made to reflect the elimination of the Designated Assessment Centre (DAC) system effective March 1, 2006. The Guidelines have not been changed in any other way.

 

 

Revised Transportation Expense Guideline

 

The Transportation Expense Guideline rate used to calculate transportation expenses for the use of the insured person’s automobile has increased from 27.5¢ to 34¢ per kilometre travelled.

The revised Guideline is effective as of January 21, 2006 and replaces the Superintendent’s Guideline No. 04/04 released on March 13, 2004. The Transportation Expense Guideline rate has not changed since 2001.

Copies of the revised Pre-approved Framework Guideline for Whiplash Associated Disorder Grade I Injuries With or Without Complaint of Back Symptoms and Pre-approved Framework Guideline for Whiplash Associated Disorder Grade II Injuries With or Without Complaint of Back Symptoms, and the revised Transportation Expense Guideline are attached for your information and will be published in the January 21, 2006 edition of The Ontario Gazette. The Guidelines can also be downloaded from the FSCO Web site at: www.fsco.gov.on.ca.
